Getting Started: Your First Week on MDSteps

A simple 7-day plan to set up your account, run your first blocks, and learn the core tools (QBank, Analytics, CCS, Flashcards).

Day 0 — Set Up

  • Log in and open Dashboard → Account → Profile to verify your email and update your name/avatar.
  • Confirm you’re on the correct Step (toggle in the header: Step 1 / Step 2 CK / Step 3).
  • Use Desktop Chrome/Firefox for the best experience (especially CCS).

Day 1 — First QBank Block

  • Open QBank in Tutor mode: 20 mixed questions.
  • Focus on reasoning; read explanations as you go.

Day 2 — Analytics Snapshot

  • Visit Analytics. Note your 2–3 lowest systems in Mastery Snapshot.
  • Create a Custom Block for one weak system (10–20 questions, Tutor).

Day 3 — Timed Practice

  • Run a 40-question block in Timed mode (mark-and-move strategy).
  • Review explanations after the block; convert misses to Auto-flashcards.

Day 4 — Calculators & Cheat Sheets

  • Open Quick Launch → Calculators to try weight-based and IV rate tools (for Step 2/3 relevance).
  • Skim one Cheat Sheet (labs, doses, criteria), then do 5–10 targeted QBank items.

Day 5 — CCS Runner (Step 3)

  • Run 1–2 CCS cases with strict timing. Practice the Order → Advance → Reassess loop.

Day 6–7 — Review Loop

  • Daily: 1 block (20–40 Qs) + 10–15 minutes of Auto-flashcards.
  • Revisit Analytics; create a new Custom Block for the next weakest system.

Pro Tips

  • Adaptive QBank: Mixed sessions automatically emphasize weak areas.
  • Don’t over-note: Capture the one reason the correct choice is right.
  • Stamina: Build toward 3–4 blocks across two days by week 3.

At-a-Glance

Week 1: Tutor → Timed → Analytics → Custom Blocks → Flashcards → CCS
Goal: 1 block/day + 10–15 min flashcards; target weakest systems first
