Custom Blocks (Target Your Weak Areas)
Good to know: The QBank is adaptive—as you practice, it automatically emphasizes your weakest systems and disciplines in mixed/recommended practice. Custom blocks are optional and let you take manual control for laser-focused drills (e.g., “only Cardio + Pharm, 20 questions, Timed”).
Adaptive by default: If you just want the system to target your weak areas automatically, use your regular mixed QBank sessions. Create a Custom Block when you want to override the mix, fix a specific gap quickly, or practice a particular mode.
How to Create a Custom Block
- Go to: Dashboard → QBank.
- Open Settings: Click Settings (top-right).
- Choose your filters:
- System (e.g., Cardio, Pulm, GI) and/or Discipline (e.g., Pharm, Micro, Ethics).
- Difficulty (e.g., Easy / Medium / Hard).
- Question count (e.g., 10, 20, 40).
- Mode: Timed, Untimed, or Tutor.
- Start the block.
Tip: Use Dashboard → Analytics to confirm your lowest-scoring systems/disciples. The adaptive engine already accounts for this, but a Custom Block can give you a concentrated burst in one area.
Mode Guide
| Mode | Best For | What to Expect |
|---|---|---|
| Timed | Building pacing and exam stamina | Clock runs; practice ~80–85s/question; mark-and-move when stuck. |
| Untimed | Concept review without time pressure | Focus on reasoning; pause to think through stems and tables. |
| Tutor | Learning new topics | See explanations as you go; slower but great for first-pass mastery. |
