How do I update my email or username?

Update Your Login Email or Username

You can update your login email and username from your dashboard. Email changes require verification; usernames have a cooldown.


Where to Make Changes

  1. Log in to your student dashboard.
  2. Go to Dashboard → Account → Profile (Account Settings).
  3. Click Edit next to Email or Username.
  4. Confirm with your current password, then save.

Change Your Email

  1. Enter the new email and your current password, then submit.
  2. We’ll send a verification link to the new email—open it to confirm.
  3. After verification, your login email is updated across the platform (receipts, notifications, community).
  • Verification required: Email changes are not applied until you click the link we send.
  • Tip: If your school/work email filters external messages, consider a personal email.

Change Your Username

  1. Enter the new username and your current password, then save.
  • Cooldown: Username can only be changed once every 90 days.
  • Availability: Usernames must be unique; if taken, choose a variant.

Troubleshooting

  • No verification email? Check spam/Promotions and allow @mdsteps.com. You can resend from Dashboard → Account → Profile.
  • Can’t access your old email? Update to a new one, then verify. If locked out, open a ticket at mdsteps.com/support (no login required).
  • Password not accepted? Reset it via Login → Forgot Password and try again.

Notes

  • Email change requires verification.
  • Username can only be changed every 90 days.
