Recovering/Linking an Old ECFMG Account in MyIntealth (for non-US IMGs)

What Changed

ECFMG services moved to MyIntealth in August 2025, a consolidated portal. Legacy accounts were transferred, but applicants must claim their record on first sign-in using the same email address that existed on the old ECFMG account.

If you use a different email, the system will not auto-link your history. And you'll end up with a new registration, with non of your old data.

Step by Step: Claiming a Transferred Account

  1. Go to MyIntealth sign-in.

  2. Click “Don’t have a MyIntealth account?” (this begins the first-time claim flow).

  3. Enter the email address from the legacy ECFMG account.

  4. Enter the verification code sent to that email.

  5. Create a new password, then sign in—your transferred profile should appear.

  6. Review your profile details. If prompted, complete any additional identity verification or consent steps.

Important: After successful claim, the contact email can be updated inside MyIntealth if needed. Do not start a new, separate registration with a different email before attempting the claim flow.


If the Legacy Email Is Inaccessible

  • Contact ECFMG Applicant Support (see contacts below). Provide:

    • Full name (as on ECFMG record)

    • ECFMG/USMLE ID

    • Date of birth (for identity match)

    • Old email (if known) and new email you want on the account

    • A brief explanation: “Need to reclaim transferred MyIntealth account; no longer have access to legacy email.”

Support may update the email on record or advise next verification steps so you can claim the account.


Common Symptoms & Fixes

  • “No account found / can’t find my record” → You likely used a different email than the one on your legacy account. Retry with the legacy email.

  • No verification email received → Check spam/junk; wait a few minutes; try again. If still missing, confirm you entered the legacy email or contact support.

  • Verification loop/blank page/error → Submit a MyIntealth Technical Issue report (include timestamp, browser, screenshots, ECFMG/USMLE ID).

  • Name, DOB, or other details look wrong → Complete any pending identity re-verification inside MyIntealth or contact support with documentation.

  • Already created a new MyIntealth account with a different email → Do not proceed further. Contact support to merge/align with your transferred record.

After You’re In: Applying & Scheduling

  1. Apply for the appropriate USMLE exam in MyIntealth and select an eligibility period.

  2. When your scheduling permit is issued, schedule your test date via Prometric. Seats are first-come, first-served within your permit window.
